Well, I thought I was done, but I guess just one more hurdle to jump over!
I enjoyed Playtime 2.0. Was I good at it? I could be if I really sink my teeth into the material. For me, a lot of this was just "playing around"..I really am not a "tekkie", but it was very interesting to learn and finally know what my son is talking about when he mentions some of the "things" we've learned about!
I think making this an optional excercise would have been a good thing. I don't like appearing as an ogre..so being team go to person made it somewhat uncomfortable for me..I had 2 "older adults" in my group and one was not receptive at all, so I hope you dont hold my team's lack of interest against me!!
But, all in all I must say it was great to learn and I'd do it again!

Thing 10
Well, this is it folks!! All good things must come to an end..or do they??
This was relatively easy. I have searched the library database before and
have also helped our patrons use it, so that wasn't rocket science.
I liked the Heritage Online link to Abraham Linclon's census record of 1860. There were 2 Abraham Lincolns listed in 2 different counties. The 51 year old was the president, not the 22 year old, i am quite sure of that since Lincoln was born in 1809. So, yes I did manage to find the old guy! Not to mention the fact that he was born in KY!
The first headline that came up when I went onto the Newspaper link was "Mark your calendar Today march 18" - Anyway, that's what I saw..hope I was in the right place!!
I then went into the local history of Roselle archives..neat to see the Gorski food store and the pics of when it was under water in 1987!!! That's the year we moved to this area, and 3 days after we moved in, the rain came down and didn't stop for a while!! I'll never forget that!
I've learned quite a bit on playtime 2.0!!! It was fun as well as informative!

Thing #9 Lifelong Learning
I have to say that all of these exercises have been an adventure!!! I can see that I have learned much more than I ever would have on my own accord!!
So many places to see and go in cyberspace..my, my, my..it's hard to choose just one and it can be very consuming!!!
I enjoyed looking at the courses, especially the genealogy..very interested in that.
This one was easy, just read!!!
I also signed into Web Junction IL. They say they offer free courses, but I couldn't pull that up..will try again later.

Cloud Computing & Document Sharing
Well, this was a bit more challenging! But, can be fun if you know the basics. Although I've worked with some shared docs before, there are some new things I 've learned and the coolest thing is, that you can edit the same document that everyone else will see immediately! Neat for office people...

Wikki Afterthought
I went back into the 2.0 learning link and found out that when you go onto a Wikki site, you can register and then all of your editing is put under your name..this answers my question about how you know you are getting accurate info or not.. You actually take some responsibility for what you post.
Thing #7 Wikki
So, a Wikki is a site that can be edited by anyone. Very interesting..But I have to ask some questions about this: Such as, If anyone can edit the site, how do you know that the information you are getting is accurate? I visited a library Wikki site from St. Joseph MI. On it was a link to geneology. I went on and printed up an ancestral chart. I think it would be great fun to do some geneology, although one of my cousins on my mom's side has already done quite an extensive dig about 10 years ago. Maybe I can do my dad's side.
